Duplicates - ugh! Clogging up your iPod, confusing your media player and generally messing up your computer, they are a major pain in the neck. Easy Duplicate Finder Portable is a portable tool to get rid of them, freeing up space and cutting down on confusion.
Easy Duplicate Finder Portable looks a little complicated, but that is down to the interface, rather than a complex program. You chose the folder you want analyzed and press start. Easy Duplicate Finder Portable scans the files and finds any duplicates, presenting you with a list of the suspicious items in the bottom half of the screen. Once it has finished, there are a number of options you can chose - renaming the duplicates, moving them to a specific folder, or just deleting them, the hardest option to undo.
Easy Duplicate Finder Portable doesn't offer a huge number of configuration options, but it does allow some filters to be applied to the searches. You can specify certain file types (MP3, JPG, etc.), ignore zero-size files or specify minimum/maximum file sizes. There are also two file comparison modes - byte-by-byte or CRC32 Checksum. Easy Duplicate Finder Portable is probably not the most user-friendly duplicate finder out there, but it's not too complicated and does provide rapid, accurate results.
